A biotechnology business called Moderna, Inc. discovers, develops, and commercializes messenger RNA therapies and vaccines for the treatment of infectious illnesses, immuno-oncology, rare diseases, cardiovascular disorders, and autoimmune diseases in the United States, Europe, and other countries.

Vaccines developed by Moderna are divided into:

Moderna company was originally known as Moderna Therapeutics, Inc. and changed its name to Moderna, Inc. in August 2018. Cambridge, Massachusetts serves as the corporate headquarters for Moderna, Inc., which was established in 2010.

Stéphane Bancel has been the Chief Executive Officer of Moderna since October 2011 and a member of the board of directors since March 2011. Moderna's President and Director of Research & Development is Stephen Hoge. For over ten years, Dr. Hoge has overseen Moderna's scientific endeavors.

Moderna stock performance

Given that Moderna is one of the industry's top suppliers of COVID-19 vaccines, its income stream soared in 2021. Moderna's stock has done much better than the overall market. Investor confidence in the company's COVID-19 vaccine helped the stock keep rising. Through the first half of summer 2021, in particular, its performance improved, but it has since given up some of those advantages.

The overall return on Moderna's shares has been 419.5%, which is much more than the 39.9% total return on the S&P 500. In the past, this has been the most lucrative time for Moderna. Since then, the market gains have leveled off and seem to be consistent.

The company has been in an uptrend since 2020 until the COVID-19 global pandemic hit, when the stock took off.

Moderna is one of the COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers, which we can see has reflected on the price as well, however, followed by a strong correction, the price sank back down to its pre-peak values.

The turbulent stock market has been also fueled by the Fed’s ultra-loose monetary policy, which we can see as spikes in the price chart.
